-=- Pershing Rifles -=- Evolving from a crack Drill & Ceremonies team trained by General of the Armies John J. "Black Jack" Pershing while he was the Professor of Military Science at the University of Nebraska in 1894, Pershing Rifles is today a national military fraternity open to all full time students. It seeks to encourage, preserve, and develop the highest ideals of the military profession, as exemplified by the life of General of the Armies, John J. Pershing. In Honor of General Pershing, the initiation weekend that a "Boot" must go through in order to join Pershing Rifles is known as Black Jack. It is nothing like "Hazing" (it is very challenging) but I am also not allowed to talk about it to any non-member, as per an oath of secrecy. Class 02-2 White Rose is the induction ceremony of the "Boots" that made it through Black Jack.
