Still flying ungraded events. The end may be in sight, but who knows.. We still have no clue as to when I'll start my front seat flights and be on my way to being done. I'll keep some updates posted. -=- For those of you that keep a close watch, you may have noticed that I've finished adding the TouchSlide gallery to the rest of my site. I've also cleaned up the menu bar a little. I plan on doing a little more "housecleaning" in the future. Meanwhile, I've added three new pages of pictures and now VIDEO to my USMC section. You can see pictures of the first time I was alone in the backseat on a flight, carrier quals, and the recent division flight that I went on. Also, with the capabilities of the TouchSlide, I added captions to ALL of the pictures on the site, so you may feel like browsing thru them all again. Have fun with that. -=- 2008.07.20 -=- Nothing new going on. Been flying ungraded events lately. I just went to the boat for carrier quals. Good times. Also, I am slowly adding the TouchSlide to the rest of the site. I upgraded the USMC section & the Fam section recently. I'll try to keep posting updates. -=- 2008.05.27 -=- Added the new functionality of the Touchslide Picture gallery to my site. For those of you that know my old roommate and good buddy, Christof -- it was created by him. You can check out more of his work on www.tofmade.com. Thanks again, Tof, it looks great. -=- 2008.05.07 -=- Did my first flight today. Had a lot of fun and got to see the east side of the Cascades, finally. I'll be getting some pictures asap. -=- 2007.12.31 -=- Christmas leave was great. Once again, we went skiing. This time we went to Canada, though. Whistler in British Columbia is the site of the 2010 Winter Olympics. It was pretty cool. Missed seeing everybody else this winter, though. Hopefully we'll get transferred again next summer and be able to see every one again. -=- 2007.11.14 -=- For those of you wondering about my eyes...they're doing okay. I'm still a lot blurry. My left eye is starting to come around and clear up but my right is still pretty blurry. I originally had an astigmatism in my left eye and a vision of 20/160 in both. Now, the doctor says I have 20/30 in my left eye and 20/50 in my right. So far, that just means that I can kinda pick out the letters on the chart when given enough time to try to focus on them. The world is still totally blurry. PRK is supposed to be a longer process for some even though the doc says my eyes are healing very well. Anyways, for those of you that haven't noticed yet...I added a message board to my website. Click on the phone icon in the menu. It's mostly a family/friends connecting place, but Lindy has her own section where she writes about our day-to-day "adventure," as she calls it. Check it out. -=- 2007.10.22 -=- Posted new Pic of the Day. Been busy around here lately. Finally started class and been doing all the legwork to get PRK done. I'm scheduled for surgery on the 29th. -=- 2007.08.02 -=- Finally settled in at Whidbey Island. After staying with my sis & brother-in-law in Littleton, we went to Laramie and visited some friends. First time for me to go camping in a pop-up camper. Way too sophisticated for the likes of me. Just give me a bivvy sack any ol' day. We decided after that to just drive straight through to Seattle, and it was a good thing we did. Housing on the island is not all it's cracked up to be unless you decide to live outside your means. We got lucky enough to find a good realtor and a decent house with a two car garage. Only a few things needed fixing and we've got a lot of the kinks ironed out now. Today we got our cable hookup and everything is pretty much unpacked. So I jumped on here to put up some pictures. There are some in the Family and the Friends sections. To explain the Pic of the Day to those who don't know, Benjamin is my cousin and, when we got together this summer, had some gnarly hair (as seen in the pic). Somehow he got convinced that he wanted a haircut like mine and that I could do it for him. With a good deal of begging his dad, he got me to do it and then promptly told his grandma on the phone that she "would have a fit" when she saw how short it was. I don't know why... I kind of like it. Oorah. -=- 2007.07.07 -=- Now in Colorado. Littleton is Verry Niice. Only took forever to get here. Wish we could have flown here in the T6. Oh well. We'll be here for another week. -=- 2007.06.18 -=- We made it to Oklahoma on Saturday morning. Wanted to drive straight through but we blew a tire outside of Biloxi, and just were too tired to make the trip in one day. We stopped in Texarkana and then continued on. We got to Heavener in the morning and then Lindy and I got to do some riding in the evening. I posted some of those pictures in the family section of the site. We are currently hanging out at my parents' house near Tahlequah and resting up before continuing on. -=- 2007.06.11 -=- One more week before heading out. We get packed up on Wednesday and moved on Thursday. As you can tell by the inactivity on the site and the few pictures that I have been putting up, my life has been pretty slow in the professional arena. Fun times with friends, though. You can see the Corrington kids on the pic of the day to the left and I've added some pictures of friends in that section. Family: Be expecting us next week sometime. We'll let you know how much time we've got to visit in Oklahoma. Later. -=- 2007.06.05 -=- Just got my orders in today. We'll be leaving Pensacola on the 15th and ordered to report to Whidbey by the 6th of Aug. I spent the weekend on a road trip with friends to Kennedy Space Center and Busch Gardens. We took their two dogs and our one. Quite an experience. Little known fact is that both KSC and Busch Gardens have pet kennels so you don't have to leave the dogs at the hotel. Helped a lot. I put pics of the weekend up on the new friends section of the site. Also, quick word on that: I split up some of the pictures to Family and Friends sections. All my Marine pictures and Flight School pictures are still in the USMC section. I also threw away the How To and Link sections of the site. The "?" icon has become the About Me section and is basically the welcome page that was recently replace by the Pic Of The Day. Feel free to browse around. -=- 2007.05.26 -=- Finally got my wings of gold. Ceremony was quick and fairly painless. It was done at the National Museum of Naval Aviation and then we headed over to the O'Club for the reception. There were some toasts done to the various aircraft, aviators, etc. It's been a tradition that Marines always do their toast as one group, even though the other services break up into "Navy Prowlers," "Air Force F-15s," "Navy SuperHornets," etc. Marines are Marines first, so we held to our tradition and I was the Marine to give the toast. My sis took a video of it that you can watch if you click here. Also, the pictures are in the Wings page of the Marine section of the site. I'll be adding Dad's pictures later. -=- NEWS ARCHIVED -=- -=- 2004.04.30 -=- Welcome to the News Portion of Live From The Moon. This will be your window into my world. I will try to start keeping this updated with current news on how things are going in my life. At least, I will until I ship out to Boot Camp. |
